About Me

Hiring and Communicating with a Home Cleaning Service

Thanks for stopping by my website. My name is Annabelle Collins. My husband and I live in a large house with our two teenage children. We’re fortunate in that we’re able to have a cleaning service come and clean on a weekly basis. In the past, I found that it was difficult for me to exert myself when it came to hiring and communicating with our cleaning service. I’ve never been very authoritative, and that shone through in a not good way. I wanted things to be done in a certain way, but found it difficult to ask for what I wanted. I have come to realize that in order for the service to do the job I want to be done, I have to ask for it to happen. I doubt that I’m alone in the fact that this is difficult, and want to share my experience and growth.

Downsizing Your Life To A Park Model Home

by Vicki Burns

For many people, home is a large house on a piece of land that cost several hundred thousand dollars and is an anchor for their life. They are comfortable there and they life having the stability of having a large house. Other people may not feel that way and for them, downsizing everything to just the essentials of life and moving to a small home is fine. Sometimes the allure of being able to take that home anywhere is important and that is where park model homes come into the picture.

What Is A Park Model Home?

The definition of a park model home in the U.S. is a home under 400 square feet that can be moved to another location if desired. They are classified as RV's and that is where the movable part comes in. In some areas, the municipality you are staying in may require you to have steel tie-down straps under the home to anchor it to the concrete slab you set up on but they also must be removable to keep that park model rating.

Living The Simple Life

For some people, living in less than 400 square feet is not conceivable. The idea that they might have to give up any of the things they have worked for is beyond them but there are people that love the idea of simply getting rid of or storing the things they don't need and making life simpler. For some, it is a chance to get back to what is important in their life and start fresh. While 400 square feet sounds like very little space, it can be more than enough for a single person or a couple. Part of the key to making this work is that step of simplifying things.

What To Do With All Your Treasures

Along the way, we all collect and acquire things that are important to us. When you are considering going into a park model home, you will just not have the space for all of those things. If you can reduce them to the most important things, you can rent a storage unit and tuck them away if you don't have room for them. The more you can let go of and give away, sell, or throw away, the smaller the unit you will need and the lower the rent on it will be. Try not to save everything you own but really focus on what might be important to you down the road. And remember, you have 400 square feet to fill so not everything you own needs to go into a storage locker. Some of the keepsakes can travel along with you.
