About Me

Hiring and Communicating with a Home Cleaning Service

Thanks for stopping by my website. My name is Annabelle Collins. My husband and I live in a large house with our two teenage children. We’re fortunate in that we’re able to have a cleaning service come and clean on a weekly basis. In the past, I found that it was difficult for me to exert myself when it came to hiring and communicating with our cleaning service. I’ve never been very authoritative, and that shone through in a not good way. I wanted things to be done in a certain way, but found it difficult to ask for what I wanted. I have come to realize that in order for the service to do the job I want to be done, I have to ask for it to happen. I doubt that I’m alone in the fact that this is difficult, and want to share my experience and growth.

Better The Look Of Your Yard

by Vicki Burns

If you aren't completely satisfied with the current look of your yard, but you aren't ready to have it fully landscaped, then there are some things that you can do on your own to give it a look that may be more to your liking and that won't be very time-consuming and/or expensive. Here are some changes and additions that you can make to your yard to help it look fresh and more aesthetically pleasing.

Get rid of any foliage you don't approve of – If you have one or more bushes that you don't really like in your yard, then you may be surprised at just how much of a difference having them removed can make. What may have been an eyesore area can instantly become much better looking all with the simple removal of those bushes. You may be able to remove the bushes on your own, or you can pay someone a fair fee to have someone come out to take them out for you.

Have problem trees removed – Trees can really change the look of an entire yard and having a problem one removed can be one of the best things that you can do for your yard. You may have a tree in your yard that is just placed in a very bad spot, or you may have a tree that has other issues, such as being diseased or even dead. You may be able to take on the task of removing smaller trees on your own, but you really should call out the professionals to deal with larger trees, or you may be putting yourself and anyone else around in a dangerous situation.

Plant the right flowers – When it comes to adding to the look of your yard by planting flowers, you want to make sure you put enough thought into the flowers you choose to go with. Make sure you go with flowers that you are going to be able to enjoy more throughout the year. If you choose flowers that have very short bloom seasons, then there will be a lot of time during the year when you aren't going to be able to reap the visual benefits of those flowers.

Keep the grass in good shape – The grass is the foundation of your yard. If you have patchy or half-dead grass, then your yard isn't going to have that nice and pleasing look to it, no matter what else you do to improve the looks of it. You want to make sure you take all the steps possible to keep the grass in good shape including making sure it is getting enough water without being over watered, not allowing people to drive on the grass and making sure it is kept at the proper length. If you have areas where the grass is thin or missing, then you want to prepare the dirt in those areas and spread out some grass seed so that you can get the grass nice and full again.
