About Me

Hiring and Communicating with a Home Cleaning Service

Thanks for stopping by my website. My name is Annabelle Collins. My husband and I live in a large house with our two teenage children. We’re fortunate in that we’re able to have a cleaning service come and clean on a weekly basis. In the past, I found that it was difficult for me to exert myself when it came to hiring and communicating with our cleaning service. I’ve never been very authoritative, and that shone through in a not good way. I wanted things to be done in a certain way, but found it difficult to ask for what I wanted. I have come to realize that in order for the service to do the job I want to be done, I have to ask for it to happen. I doubt that I’m alone in the fact that this is difficult, and want to share my experience and growth.

3 Things To Try Instead Of Selling Your Home And Buying Another

by Vicki Burns

Are you tired of the way your home looks? Have you been thinking about selling it and buying a different one elsewhere? Unless you are dissatisfied with the location due to a long commute, there are other alternatives aside from simply selling and starting anew. One of the best options is to remodel your home so that it's exactly the way that you want it to be. Contrary to what you may be thinking, you don't need to have a huge remodeling project that renovates the whole house in order to make a difference. All that may be necessary are some relatively simple things such as the following.

Replace cabinets: The kitchen is probably the room that you visit the most after your bedroom. Food is prepared here, stored here, and sometimes eaten here when you don't have a separate dining room. A kitchen that doesn't have enough cabinet space can feel cluttered and claustrophobic, even if the kitchen itself is relatively large and roomy. Many older cabinets were simply not designed with modern kitchen appliances and gadgets in mind. Replacing your kitchen cabinets with new and bigger ones will help to ensure that you have enough space to store your panini press and blender out of sight, freeing up counter space, and making your kitchen feel roomier and open.

Repaint: With the kitchen cabinets out of the kitchen, this is a perfect opportunity to repaint the walls. You'll likely find old paint on the walls that was hidden behind the old cabinets, showing how many times the kitchen has been painted since the last cabinetry install. Without any cabinets in place, painting the kitchen will be a relatively easy affair. Instead of having to put down tons of drop cloths and use masking tape to keep paint off of counters, all you'll need is a floor drop cloth and to cover your outlets to protect them from the paint. Once you've done the kitchen, you can repaint other rooms of your home for a fresh new look.

Hire a landscaper: When you have any significant amount of yard outside of your house, this can greatly impact how you feel about it when you come home. Unfortunately, busy professionals don't always have time to mow the lawn regularly or weed the flower garden as it should be. If your yard is looking slightly raggedy and unkempt, it's time to hire a landscaper to whip it back into shape. This will take a little longer to see results than the replacing of your kitchen cabinets, but it can be worth the trouble. If you have a window that looks out of your kitchen and into your yard, you should ask your landscaper to place the most attractive plants and shrubs in that area so that you can appreciate the aesthetic beauty of everything while you are washing dishes or are otherwise in the kitchen when the sun is up.
