Hiring and Communicating with a Home Cleaning Service

Thanks for stopping by my website. My name is Annabelle Collins. My husband and I live in a large house with our two teenage children. We’re fortunate in that we’re able to have a cleaning service come and clean on a weekly basis. In the past, I found that it was difficult for me to exert myself when it came to hiring and communicating with our cleaning service. I’ve never been very authoritative, and that shone through in a not good way. I wanted things to be done in a certain way, but found it difficult to ask for what I wanted. I have come to realize that in order for the service to do the job I want to be done, I have to ask for it to happen. I doubt that I’m alone in the fact that this is difficult, and want to share my experience and growth.

Keeping Your Home Furniture In Good Condition

by Vicki Burns

The furniture that you have in your home will experience extensive wear from the use that it will experience. Being prepared to effectively care for these furniture items can be instrumental if you are to protect their appearance and keep them in good condition for as long as possible.

Vacuum And Shampoo Upholstery

The upholstery for your furniture will be the most likely to suffer extensive wear. In order to keep it in good condition, the upholstery will have to be actively cleaned by the owner. During this process, they should use a vacuum to remove as much dust, dirt, and crumbs from the upholstery as possible. Unfortunately, some of these items may penetrate far enough into the fibers of the upholstery to be difficult to remove. In order to remove these materials, the upholstery should be thoroughly shampooed.

Use Protective Covers For The Feet Of The Furniture

The feet of the furniture can be capable of causing extensive damage to the floors where the furniture is placed. More specifically, they can leave deep scratches on the flooring. To minimize this potential issue, the use of protective covers on the feet of the furniture can be a valuable tool. These covers can reduce the risk of these scratches being left without negatively altering the appearance of the furniture. Furthermore, these covers will often be textured so that the furniture will get enough traction to avoid sliding around the floor. For those with hardwood, tile, or polished concrete flooring, this texturing can be essential for reducing the tendency for furniture to slide on the floors as people sit on it or stand up from it.

Patch Any Upholstery Damage As Quickly As Possible

At some point in time, the upholstery will suffer small tears and rips in it. These damages can be a fairly routine occurrence for furniture that experiences frequent use, and this can lead to individuals neglecting to rapidly undertake repairs for these problems. Unfortunately, this may contribute to the upholstery suffering far worse damage as time progresses. When the punctures and tears are still relatively small, it is possible to patch them with a repair kit that will provide effective results while being fairly discrete. If the rips and tears are able to dramatically increase in size, the only viable repair may be to reupholster the furniture. Keeping a small upholstery repair kit available will ensure that you can quickly complete these repairs as soon as you notice that this damage has started to develop.
